Rice-paddy Biocultural-diversity Enhancement Decade 2030 Project (Rice-BED 2030 Project) was initiated by Ramsar Network Japan to implement the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework in relation to rice paddies. This project provides a platform for awareness-raising and participation in a wide variety of activities focused on enhancing biodiversity in rice paddy area.

To achieve the objectives of the Rice-BED 2030 Project, we have carried out the following activities and others with grants from the Japan Fund for Global Environment and support from sponsors and cooperatives.

  1. Rice-paddy Resolution Round Table Preparatory Meeting
    Regular Civil-Government Meetings in Japan on Biodiversity in Rice Paddies
  2. Online Mini Forum
    Objective: Based on presentations by invited experts on new policies, research results, best practices and so on, exchange opinions with farmers, local governments, NGO members, researchers and others with the aim of improving biodiversity in agricultural land.
